Inauguration of Student Council and Association of Student Volunteers (ASV) – 15 October 2025

The Inauguration Ceremony of the Student Council and the Association of Student Volunteers (ASV) was held at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, on 15 October 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Seminar Hall of the Administrative Block.

The event was presided over by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO, Sode Group of Institutions, while Dr. Nagaraj Bhat, In-Charge Principal, and Dr. Deepika B. V., Student Welfare Officer, graced the dais.

The program began with the introduction of the newly elected Student Council members, followed by an oath-taking ceremony that symbolized their commitment to leadership, teamwork, and service. Ms. Akshatha Rao, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, provided an overview of the structure, objectives, and vision of the Association of Student Volunteers (ASV), after which the ASV was formally inaugurated by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal.

Mr. Pranith Shetty, President of the Student Council, expressed his team’s dedication to organizing technical, cultural, and sports activities that promote holistic student development. He also reaffirmed the council’s intent to contribute to the institution’s growth and visibility.

In his guest address, Dr. Nagaraj Bhat highlighted that true leadership lies in responsibility, not in position, encouraging students to lead with integrity and unity for the collective welfare of the student community.

In his presidential address, Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal urged students to channel their energy towards personal growth and institutional progress. He announced several new student-focused initiatives, including the Student Activity Center, Incubation Center, Center for Product Development, and the Association of Student Volunteers, all designed to enhance innovation and student engagement. He concluded his inspiring address by quoting a thoughtful line adapted from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Veerendra Nayari, General Secretary of the Student Council. The program was efficiently compered by Ms. Sumayya Riaz, Final-Year Student, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

The event witnessed the presence of Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and students, marking a significant step towards strengthening student leadership and collaborative culture at SMVITM.
