Hands-on PY2ML workshop


The Co-curricular committee and Hobby Project Club of SMVITM organized a hands-on PY2ML workshop for second and third-year students of SMVITM in the institute premises on Monday, 25th August 2025, in the CAED Lab and on Tuesday, 26th August 2025, in the F103 Workshop
Lab. Dr. Renita S Monis welcomed the students to the workshop and introduced the resource persons by briefing the structure and flow of the sessions. Students from various departments, including CSE, AIDS, and AIML, served as the resource persons for the workshop.
Day 1:
The workshop provided attendees with a comprehensive introduction to Python programming and its application in data analysis and machine learning. It covered a range of essential topics beginning with the fundamentals of Python and progressing to widely used libraries such as
NumPy and Pandas. The session started with Deviktha Hegde from Department of CSE and followed by Bhushan from Department of AI&DS, Anjali Shetty from Department of AI-ML, Riston from Department of AI&DS, Shreekiran Department of AI&DS, Pradyumna U Department of AI&DS, Sathwik Department of AI&DS.
Day 2: Machine Learning (ML) Workshop
The session began with Abhishek M and followed by Ms. C B Radhika, Mr. Shivam Shetty from Department of AI-ML. The Machine Learning (ML) Workshop was conducted with the objective of introducing participants to the fundamental concepts of machine learning and guiding them
through hands-on implementation of a real-world project. The workshop aimed to build both conceptual clarity and practical coding skills, ensuring that participants gained confidence in applying ML techniques. Total 27 participants attended the session.
Cyber Security Workshop:
The session began with Ms. Nireeksha Naresh and followed by Mr. Hitesh A, Ms. Shama , Ms. Yathika students of Department of AI&DS. The Cyber security Workshop introduced participants to the basics of cyber security, ethical hacking, and digital forensics. Sessions covered common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and the importance of securing digital assets. Total 36 participants attended the session.
The event was organized by Co-Curricular Coordinator Dr. Renita S Monis, Department of Mathematics. She highlighted the importance of the workshop in building foundational knowledge in Python and data science, and thanked all the students for their valuable contribution. Participation and appreciation certificates were awarded to all the participants. Dr.Rashmi Samanth, Ms. Shalaka and Mr.Sandeep Prabhu coordinated the event.
