Five-Days’ Faculty Development Program on “Applied AI: MATLAB Based Deep Learning with Hardware Integration”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Shri
Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi in association with CoreEL Technologies, Bengaluru and ISTE Chapter and IEEE has inaugurated a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Applied AI: MATLAB Based Deep Learning with Hardware Integration”.
The inaugural program was held on 14th July 2025 at the Institute premises, marking the commencement of the FDP through a melodious invocation by Mr. Sachin Prabhu, Asst. Professor (Sr), Dept of ECE, SMVITM. The inauguration was marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp, graced by dignitaries on the dais.
Ms. Soundarya R, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, introduced the esteemed resource person, Mr. Rakshith B S, Senior Application Engineer for Mathworks from CoreEL Technologies, Bengaluru. In his inaugural address, Mr. Rakshith B S brought his expertise in advanced MATLAB techniques, setting a strong foundation for the sessions to follow. The event also featured a presidential address by Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of SMVITM. Dr. Bhat congratulated the department for organizing the FDP and encouraged participants to actively
engage in the sessions to enhance their technical knowledge and professional capabilities. Dr. Soumya J Bhat, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering., SMVITM delivered the welcome address, and the vote of thanks inaugural session concluded with a by Dr. Sadananda L, faculty of CSE.
