FIRST YEAR ORIENTATION PROGRAM

SMVITM, Bantakal organized the orientation program for the newly admitted B.E students at the institute premises on 12 August 2018.

The major objective of the program was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the B. E. course, to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance of the students and contributing to the overall growth of a student.

The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. N. Mohan Das, Former Director Dept. of Higher Education, MHRD, Govt of India, New Delhi.

Dr. N. Mohan Das, while addressing the gathering said, opting for engineering education in no way a hasty decision, indeed it is one of the best decisions and options available right now in India compared to other contemporary courses. Channelize and dedicate your life and soul for next four years, enjoy the fruits for the rest of your lifetime, he said.

Dr. Thirumaleshwar Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, highlighted the major accomplishments the institution so far on both the academic and non-academic fronts, welcomed the students gathered for the real challenge  of engineering life. He gave a deep insight of the importance of engineering education also.

Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino, coordinator for the first year Students of the college gave necessary information about the academic format of the B.E Course. She elaborated the University and Institute rules and regulations to be followed by the students.

Chief Guest honoured Top 3 CET toppers Ananya Bhat,  Navya ShanBhag and Vaishak Prabhu who joined SMVITM this academic year.

In his Presidential address Shri. Rathnakumar, Secretary, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, expressed his gratitude to the parents and students for having faith and confidence in the institution, and assured that the college and the management is bound to give the best facilities. He also told about ill-effects of reckless and rash bike driving prevailing among youth.

Shri. P. Srinivas Tantry, Vice president of SSVMET, Udupi presided over the function. Shri Harish Belman, was also present in the dais.

Ms. Ushaparvathy, Assistant Professor Department of Physics, welcomed the gathering.  Dr. ReenaKumari PD introduced Dr. MohanDas to the gathering. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Bhagyalaxmi  Navada of Department of Mathematics. The program started with invocation by Ms. Vaishnavi Katte and the Programme was compeered by Mr. Karthik V and Ms. Sowmya Bhat.
