FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, under the Banner of ISTE Faculty Chapter organized a Three day Faculty Development Program on “Online Teaching Tools” in the institute premises for the faculty members of PU Colleges of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada District.

Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of SMVITM inaugurated the program on Monday 10 August 2020 and stressed upon the importance and relevance of online teaching in the current situation. He also elaborated how the faculty members of SMVIMT have gained the expertise on using various online teaching tools during the lockdown and how the same was utilized in the teaching-learning process in the institute. He thanked the participants who have come to attend this program out of their interest and wished the program to be fruitful success.

More than 30 Faculty members from 15 Pre University colleges of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada Districts participated actively in this event. On 12 August 2020, Shri Ranthnakumar, Secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust® UDupi, while addressing the participants during the valedictory program stressed the importance of moral values to be followed by each of us and also urged to inculcate these values in the youth so that, the amount of money spent on maintaining law and order, security can be reduced and the same amount may be used for innovation to make our country Athma Nirbhar. While sharing their feedback, the participants expressed their happiness towards selfless initiative taken up and systematic execution of this FDP by SMVITM to train the PU college faculty members on the modern online teaching tools which was very much needed for the PU faculty members.

Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Venugopala Rao A S, Coordinator of the Faculty development Program proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Ramyashree, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering compeered the program. Dr. Ganesh Aithal Vice Principal of SMVITM, Heads of various Departments and faculty members were also present during the program.
