Awareness Programme on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26th June 2025.

On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, an impactful awareness programme was organized by the 4 KAR ENGR COY NCC Unit of SMVITM at SVS English Medium School, Innanje on 26th June 2025. The objective of the programme was to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its consequences on individuals and society, and ways to seek help and lead a healthy, drug-free life. The session was conducted by Mr. Karthik V, NCC Caretaker Officer, who addressed the gathering with valuable insights on identifying the signs of substance abuse and the importance of making informed choices. The programme aimed to instill awareness among the youth and encourage them to say No to Drugs and Yes to Life. The event was well received by the school community. Ms. Mamatha, Headmistress of the Primary Section, and Ms. Sushma, Headmistress of the High School Section, graced the occasion with their presence, along with the entire teaching faculty. The programme was efficiently emceed by Ms. Vasundhara, Assistant Teacher, who also proposed the vote of thanks. PI staff Subedar Subhas from 4 KAR ENGR COY NCC and a team of NCC cadets were present, adding value to the programme and engaging with the students meaningfully. Their presence contributed to making the initiative informative and inspiring for the young minds. The event concluded with all the participants solemnly taking a pledge to lead a drug-free life, reinforcing the message of commitment to health, responsibility, and positive living.
