An awareness talk on NEP-2020

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) Bantakal has organized an awareness talk on “Reorienting SMVITM for the new NEP regime” on Saturday, 02 January 2021 at its campus.

Dr. M S Moodithaya, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Nitte University, Mangaluru was the resource person of the session. In his address, the resource person elaborated the intension of the Government in introducing National Education Policy-2020. Also threw light on the actions initiated by both central and state governments for the effective implementation of this policy. Dr. Moodithaya explained the changes that would occur in the field of higher education in the next ten years. The major points discussed are governing agencies for higher educational institutions, flexibility for the students to learn the course of their choice/interest, role of HEIs in adopting themselves with the changing trends etc.,. The talk is more focused on how an affiliated institution like SMVITM must orient itself in-line with the changing trend. The session has enlightened the faculty members with their roles and responsibilities in this regard.

Sri. Ratnakumar, Secretary of SSVMET, the Principal, Vice-Principal, Deans, HODs and faculty members of SMVITM were present in the session. Governing Council members of SMVITM Sri. Jagdish Acharya and Smt. Ramya Srinath Koppa have also virtually joined the session. Faculty member of Mechanical Engineering Mr. Karthik V compeered the program.
