
The Alumni Cell of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with ISTE, successfully organized an insightful session on “College to Industry Transition” on 27th September 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The program featured distinguished alumni and professionals from Tetherfi:
Mr. Shreeraj Bhat, Technical Lead at Tetherfi and alumnus of the 2017 batch
Mr. Vishwas Bhat, Trainee Software Engineer at Tetherfi and alumnus of the 2025 batch
Mr. Ashwath Mabiyan, Technical Lead at Tetherfi
Mr. Vishwas Bhat highlighted that moving from campus to industry requires more than just technical skills. He stressed the role of communication skills, programming expertise, teamwork, and self-confidence, urging students to keep practicing, participating, and learning continuously to stay ahead.
Mr. Shreeraj Bhat cautioned students against over-reliance on generative AI. He explained the importance of personal knowledge and understanding, demonstrated AI tools, and discussed their real-world applications. He emphasized combining technical expertise with AI literacy to remain industry ready.
Mr. Ashwath Mabiyan provided guidance on career opportunities, focusing on relevant programming languages, choosing suitable roles, and deciding between startups vs. corporate jobs. He encouraged students to set clear goals, avoid job-market myths and scams, and make informed decisions with confidence.
The speakers were felicitated by the Principal, Dean (Academics), and Head of the Department for their valuable contributions and continued connection with their alma mater. The CEO of the institute also conveyed his best wishes, appreciating their efforts to give back to the academic community.
The session was well-received by students and faculty, offering practical insights and renewed confidence to the attendees. The event was smoothly coordinated by the faculty alumni coordinators of the CSE Department, who ensured successful execution of the program.
