Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), in collaboration with Niraamaya Institute of Health Sciences, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great fervour and patriotic spirit on 15 August 2025.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a parade and ceremonial salutes. The Independence Day message was delivered by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Educational Institutions, who reflected on India’s journey since independence and urged students and faculty to contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
A motivational address by JUO Arpita Thantry, RDC participant, inspired the gathering with her passionate words on duty, discipline, and patriotism. The event was further graced by esteemed dignitaries: Dr. Naveen M. Ballal (Director, Niraamaya Institute of Health Sciences), Mrs. Roshani Rodrigues (Principal, NCN Bantakal), Dr. Nagaraj Bhat (In-charge Principal, SMVITM), and Mr. B. Shivashankar Pai (Principal, NCAHS Bantakal).
To add a creative and engaging spirit to the occasion, the organizing committee conducted patriotic group singing and poster-making competitions for faculty and staff, which received enthusiastic participation. A special appreciation goes to the NCC cadets for their exemplary role in coordinating the flag hoisting, ensuring discipline, and presenting a well-organized parade.
The celebration truly embodied unity, patriotism, and a shared commitment to the values of the nation.
