Department of Mechanical Engineering Organizes Visit to MSDC, Manipal | 22 Nov 2025

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an industrial visit to various facilities at the Manipal Skill Development Center (MSDC), Manipal, on 22 November 2025 at 9:30 AM. During the visit, students were oriented to advanced facilities such as the additive manufacturing section, CNC machining units, metrology lab, and digital fabrication tools. The instructors demonstrated equipment operation, design-to-production workflows, and quality assurance practices. Students also interacted with technical staff and clarified queries regarding the applications of these technologies in industrial and research settings. The visit provided valuable real-world exposure, strengthened students’ understanding of modern engineering practices, and motivated them to pursue skill-based learning, thereby enhancing their technical confidence and practical readiness for future engineering challenges.
