SMVITM Students Win Second Place in GreenMind Hackathon 2025

Students Mr. Karthik Nayak, Ms. Kandukuru Harshitha, Mr. Adish Poojary, Mr. Abhay G. Poojary, and Mr. Adithya V. Kotian, third-year Computer Science and Engineering students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, participated and secured Second Place in the GreenMind Hackathon 2025, held at Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT), Bengaluru, from 13 to 15 November 2025.

The team presented “Areca Harvester”, an AI-powered sustainable agri-tech solution designed to detect ripe arecanuts. Participation in the GreenMind Hackathon provided the students with valuable exposure to real-world problem-solving, expert technical feedback, and a highly competitive innovation ecosystem. The achievement marks a proud milestone for the institution and the student team.
