Admission to the First Year B.E. programs at SMVITM can be obtained in any of the following modes.

CET (KEA) Admission

Students seeking seats through the Government quota must appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Candidates must appear for the Entrance Test conducted by COMED-K, with seat selection based on their allotment procedures.

Management Quota

Students seeking admission through the Management Quota should directly approach the college office and are required to write an entrance test conducted by the college.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed II PUC / 12th Std. / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer.

Lateral Entry (2nd Year)

Students with a three-year diploma in a respective specialization can join the second year BE course. They must apply for the “Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET)” conducted by KEA and follow the seat allotment procedure.
