Awareness Program on “EBSCO & IEEE Xplore: VTU Consortium Resources” Conducted

The Central Library, in association with the IEEE Student Branch, organized an awareness program titled “EBSCO & IEEE Xplore: VTU Consortium Resources Awareness Program” on 11 February 2026 at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal.

The session was delivered by M. S. Srinivasa, who provided valuable insights into the effective use of digital academic resources available through the VTU Consortium. The session focused on creating awareness among students and faculty members about accessing scholarly journals, research databases, e-books, conference proceedings, and other academic e-resources.

During the session, participants were introduced to advanced search techniques, database navigation, citation tools, and strategies for conducting effective literature reviews using EBSCO and IEEE Xplore. The speaker also demonstrated how to retrieve high-quality research papers and utilize institutional access for academic projects, publications, and higher studies preparation.

The program was attended by around 180 students, along with the Principal, Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members, highlighting the institute’s emphasis on digital literacy and research-oriented learning. The session was coordinated by Deepak S., Nagaraja Rao, and Soundarya R, ensuring the smooth conduct of the program.

The program proved highly beneficial in promoting the effective utilization of institutional e-resources, thereby strengthening the research culture and academic competence of students and faculty.
