Hands-on Session on “Next-Gen Research: Automating Literature Review with AI” Conducted

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Cell (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), organized a hands-on session titled “Next-Gen Research: Automating Literature Review with AI” on 8 February 2026 at the CAED Lab, Admin Block. The session was conducted for sixth semester students and witnessed the participation of around 40 students.

The session was handled by Mr. Raghavendra G. S., Assistant Professor (Senior), Department of CSE, who introduced students to AI-powered research tools that can streamline the literature review process for academic and project work. He discussed the limitations of traditional literature surveys and demonstrated how artificial intelligence can assist in discovering, reading, and synthesizing research papers efficiently.

Students were introduced to advanced research tools such as Research Rabbit for exploring citation networks and discovering related research work, and Google NotebookLM for structured analysis, summarization, and comparison of multiple research papers. The practical demonstrations helped students understand how these tools can identify research gaps, track emerging research trends, and organize technical information systematically.

The workshop provided students with a practical workflow for conducting high-quality literature reviews, enabling them to focus more on innovation and experimentation in their final year projects. The session also aligned with the department’s objective of enhancing research output and guiding students toward publishable project work.

The program was coordinated by Ms. Sahana, and the session received enthusiastic participation from the students.
