The Department of Basic Sciences, in association with the Co-Curricular Cell, IEEE, and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized National Science Day 2026 on 28 February 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir C. V. Raman and to celebrate the spirit of scientific innovation and research.
The Chief Guest, K. Jyothi Dhamodara, delivered an inspiring address highlighting the role of scientific research in technological advancement and national development. As part of the celebration, she presented the National Science Day Lecture on the theme “Women in Science: Catalyzing Viksit Bharat.” She emphasized the contributions of women scientists, the importance of inclusive opportunities in STEM, and the need to encourage young minds to pursue research and innovation.
Radhakrishna S. Aithal also addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of scientific thinking, rational inquiry, and innovation among students. Nagaraj Bhat welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students, highlighting the significance of celebrating National Science Day to foster curiosity and a research-oriented mindset among students.
