Dream Come True at SMVITM: Inauguration of Four Milestone Facilities – 13 January 2026

It was a “Dream Come True” day at the SMVITM campus on 13 January 2026, with the addition of four significant milestone facilities namely ‘Imaginators’ Gallery’, ‘Evaluation Centre’, ‘Cricket Net Practice Pitch’ and the most coveted ‘Student Activity Centre’, aimed at holistic development. H. H. Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, President of Shri Sode Group of Educational Institutions, Udupi, inaugurated these facilities in line with the accelerated growth roadmap of SMVITM.

The ‘Imaginators’ Gallery’ has been developed to showcase the varied talents of students and staff to the external world, be it innovative products or projects, gadgets, artworks, drawings, paintings, posters or models. It will effectively project the curiosity, creativity and imagination of students to visitors and guests.

The ‘Evaluation Centre’ will provide all facilities associated with examination-related activities of SMVITM, an Autonomous Institution under VTU, Belagavi.

The ‘Cricket Net Practice Pitch’ facility will be a major boost to Sports and Games on the campus, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the students. It will promote sportsmanship and healthy well-being among the students of Sode Group of Institutions.

The state-of-the-art ‘Student Activity Centre’ is an ambitious project designed to nurture and support co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of students in a dedicated space. It is an area where students can apply their imaginative and creative minds, gain hands-on experience, and develop innovative ideas into practice. It encourages students to think out of the box and find solutions to real-time technological problems. The centre will serve as a platform for students to spend quality time on constructive activities, going beyond the conventional boundaries of the syllabus and even beyond regular academic hours. It is also a place where students can practise and get trained for techno-cultural fests, talent shows, and extra-curricular competitions, focusing on their all-round development.

The event was presided over by His Holiness Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt. Sri P. Srinivasa Thantry, Vice President, and Sri Rathna Kumar, Secretary of SSVMET, were the Guests of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, Poojya Swamiji enlightened the students on the importance of overall personality development to sustain in this new era of technology, along with excelling in academics.

The CEO of Sode Group of Institutions, Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, spoke on the occasion and highlighted the need and benefits of each facility towards curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular development, along with the physical well-being of students. He declared that these facilities are open for use by students of all institutions under the Sode Group and appealed for optimal and judicious utilization of these facilities for their total personality development in the coming days.

Dr. Nagaraj Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, welcomed the gathering. Sri Harish Belman, member of the Governing Body, and all Heads/Coordinators of Sode Group of Institutions were present. The program began with a welcome dance by Ms. Poorvika, 2nd Year student of SMVITM. Students Ms. Deepa Prabhu and Ms. Chirashree compered the formal program.
