Student Mentoring Activity on “IoT Applications” at Government Composite High School, Volakadu, Udupi – 28 October 2025

As part of its community outreach initiative, students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized a Student Mentoring Activity at Government Composite High School, Volakadu, Udupi, on 28 October 2025.

The interactive session focused on “IoT Applications”, introducing students to the basics of electronics, Arduino programming, LED control, and sensor-based automation. Using TinkerCAD simulators, participants explored circuit design and testing in real time, gaining a hands-on understanding of how IoT concepts are applied in everyday technology.

To encourage active learning, the session also included basic coding exercises and creative problem-solving activities, making the concepts engaging and easy to grasp.

Bhagyashree, Amrutha, Ankita, Deena, and Harshitha Bhat — all students of the 7th Semester, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) — served as session volunteers, simplifying complex technical topics for school-level learners. The session was coordinated by Mr. Raghavendra Hegde, Assistant Professor (Senior), Department of CSE, SMVITM.

The Head Master, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school, extended full support for the smooth conduct of the event. Around 35 students from Class IX actively participated and benefitted from the session, which successfully fostered curiosity, innovation, and technical awareness among young learners.
