Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, in collaboration with the Udupi District Private Aided and Unaided PU College Principals’ Association, hosted a one-day workshop titled “Inspiring Educators – Transforming Futures” on 28 October 2025. The event brought together PU college principals and faculty from across Udupi for a day of learning, discussion, and collaboration.
The inaugural ceremony featured Sri Maruthi Malge, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education, Udupi, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he praised the initiative and emphasized the need for equipping educators with AI-driven and counselling tools to help build resilient, future-ready students. Dr. Dayananda Pai, President of the Association, acknowledged SMVITM’s support during the Covid-19 period and extended his best wishes for the workshop. Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO of the SODE Group of Institutions, highlighted SMVITM’s recent achievements and the role of such events in driving academic transformation and fostering student-centric innovation. Mr. Dinesh Kodavoor, Secretary of the Association, was also present.
The program opened with an invocation by Sharanya, followed by a warm welcome address from Dr. Nagaraj Bhat, In-Charge Principal and Dean (Academics). The day’s proceedings were smoothly compered by Ms. Akshatha Rao, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Sudarshan Rao K, Dean (Quality Assurance), who appreciated the contributions of the dignitaries, speakers, and participants.
Three engaging thematic sessions were conducted:
“Bridging Two Worlds – Teens & Teachers Together” by Ms. Lahari Vaidya and team focused on counselling strategies to strengthen empathy and understanding between teachers and students.
“Thriving Professional Fields – An Eye-opener” by Dr. Raghavendra K. Holla (Civil Engineering, MIT Manipal) explored evolving career landscapes and the importance of aligning students’ goals with industry trends.
“AI in Education” by Mr. Arun Upadhyaya and team offered a hands-on demonstration of AI tools for lesson planning, assessment, and personalized learning.
The workshop successfully inspired educators to embrace innovation, technology, and empathy in their teaching practices — truly reflecting the spirit of “Transforming Futures.”
