The Aikya Club organized a peer learning session titled “LeetCode: Explore, Execute, Experience” under the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at SMVITM. This event took place on 30 th August 2025 in the Admin Block and was designed for third-year AI-ML students. The workshop was led by final-year AI-ML students Chethan D. L., Manu N. Adiga, K.
Nagendra Pai, Pranav K., and Sanketh S. Hegde. Dr. Mamatha I, Head of the AI and Machine Learning Department, highlighted the importance of the peer learning session aimed at improving students’ problem-solving skills and familiarizing them with coding
challenges on LeetCode, as well as mentioning other platforms like HackerRank and CodeChef. Participants were informed about the significance of LeetCode in enhancing coding skills, preparing for technical interviews, and strengthening logical thinking. The session
concentrated on solving various LeetCode problems classified by difficulty: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Students gained insight into optimizing solutions to efficiently handle large inputs and learned the importance of reducing the time complexity of problems. Throughout the sessions, students emphasized that understanding the logic behind a problem is crucial. They practiced writing pseudocode and demonstrated solutions in both C and Python, highlighting how the same problem can be approached differently across programming languages. The importance of coding style, readability, and efficiency in both languages was also discussed. The peer learning session was both insightful and interactive. By tackling coding problems such as Two Sum and Container with Most Water, students received practical
guidance that will aid them in their technical journey. The department’s initiative to organize these sessions has effectively bridged the gap between classroom learning and competitive programming practice.
