ABOUT CELL

With the launch of the MBA program in 2023 under the affiliation of VTU, Belagavi, the Department of Business Administration of SMVITM has taken strategic steps to ensure that students are career-ready from day one. Recognizing the critical role placements play in shaping student futures, the Department has appointed Ms. Vidya Bhat as the dedicated Placement Officer for the MBA program.

From the very beginning of the program, students have been actively engaged in a variety of technical sessions, guest lectures, and industry-focused talks designed to broaden their understanding of different sectors, job roles, and workplace expectations. The Placement Cell has also implemented the Bajaj Finserv Skilling Program, equipping students with the necessary skills to secure positions in core sectors such as BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance). In addition, students participated in outbound training programs that focused on personality development, helping them overcome inhibitions, enhance teamwork abilities, and become confident, assertive professionals grooming them to be responsible leaders of tomorrow.

It is important for students to note and recognize that securing a job is a shared responsibility. While the Placement Cell creates and informs students of opportunities, the onus of preparation, performance, and persistence lies with the students themselves. Success in placements requires active participation, continuous skill-building, and a proactive approach—qualities that the department actively nurtures throughout the MBA journey.

As the first batch of 2023-25 prepares to graduate, the Placement Cell has been actively working to secure internships and final placements that align with each student’s undergraduate background and chosen area of specialization. Despite starting with a small cohort, the commitment to place every student has been a top priority—highlighting the personalized attention and support each MBA candidate receives.
