5 Day Student Workshop on Build it All: A Deep Dive into Full Stack Engineering

The Aikya Club organized a 5 Day Student Workshop on Build it All: A Deep Dive into Full Stack Engineering under the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at SMVITM from 28 th July to 1 st August 2025 at Computer Lab F-106 for second and third-year AI-ML/CSE students. The workshop was led by Ms. Pragathi J Puthran, Head of Training & HR at Kakunje Software Private Limited, Mangaluru. Dr. Mamatha I, Head of the Artificial and Machine Learning Department, emphasized the importance of the program, which aimed to equip students with comprehensive skills in both front-end and back-end web development.The training covered essential technologies such as HTML, CSS with Bootstrap, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, along with integrated database connectivity using XAMPP. Participants were guided through the process of designing, developing, and deploying fully functional web applications. The sessions followed an instructor-led format with daily hands-on coding exercises, culminating in a capstone live project—a functional Patient Management System implementing CRUD operations. Through the workshop, participants developed the ability to build responsive, user-friendly web interfaces while gaining practical experience in integrating client-side and server-side technologies. The daily challenges helped enhance their problem-solving and coding skills, while the capstone project provided hands-on exposure to the complete development cycle—from design to deployment—equipping them with the confidence and competence to create full-stack applications independently.
