Workshop on Sustainable Development of Udupi Jasmine

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Udupi in association with Manipal Institute of Management, MAHE and Visveswaraya Trade Promotion Center, Govt. of Karnataka have organized a strategic discussion session on “Sustainable Development & Road Map for future of Udupi – Jasmine” in the Institute Premises. The program was held on 28 February 2020.

Mr. Devananda Upadhyaya, Former General Manager, Syndicate Bank and Sri Ramakrishna Sharma, President of Udupi District Farmer’s Association were the chief guest and Guest of Honor of the inaugural ceremony respectively.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Devananda Upadhyaya explained the spiritual importance and emotional attachment of the people of the undivided D.K district with Udupi (Shankarapura) Jasmine.  Mr. Ramakrishna Shrama elaborated the problem faced by jasmine growers.

Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamji of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi presided over the function and inaugurated the discussion by lighting the lamp.  In his address, revered Swamiji has assured all possible support from SMVITM for the Sustainable Development of Udupi jasmine.

Dr. Harish G Joshi, Coordinator, Center for Social Entrepreneurship MIM, Manipal, Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of SMVITM, Faculty, staff, Students of SMVITM and large number of  jasmine growers were the part of discussion. Ms. Sowmya Bhat has compered the program.
