Nowadays people still consider it a taboo to discuss about their biological changes with parents/friends. Children coming from rural area are often lacking education regarding it and most of the time they find it either shy or parents stop them from discussing such things. So children lack the information regarding the biological changes that are common to every human kind and also any doubts they have regarding sexuality and often they find inappropriate routes to get knowledge about it. Also many times without knowing the difference between appropriate or inappropriate touches children have the chances of getting sexually abused. Girls don’t have access to hygienic materials during their periods and often kept separate as people think it as impure due to lack of knowledge. In this regard session was arranged to create awareness regarding sexual health and hygiene. Speaker spoke on different aspects of gender equality, biological changes, sexual health, how to have a changed mind-set on sexuality. Various case studies on how to overcome the fear and openly speak about the sexuality was displayed. First year students of the institution were the beneficiary of this awareness drive.
