Physics

The Department of Physics, established in 2010, has consistently maintained an excellent academic record in both teaching and research. The department currently has four dedicated teaching faculty members and boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, including a dedicated research lab. With its well-qualified faculty, the department effectively strengthens the fundamentals of Engineering Physics for first-year students.


The department has been recognized as a research center by VTU. Currently, two faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees, and the department actively undertakes quality research projects funded by various government agencies. To date, four research scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D. degrees through the department’s research center.


The Department of Physics has successfully completed two significant research projects:

  • A project valued at approximately ₹15 lakhs, funded by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) – Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Government of India.
  • Another project worth ₹4 lakhs, sanctioned by the Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka, under the Seed Money for Young Scientists for Research (SMYSR) scheme.
