EIGHTH ANNUAL DAY

 

The eighth annual day of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi was celebrated on 10 March 2018.

H.H. Shri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Shri Pejawara Mutt, Udupi – who delivered a speech on the occasion, gave awareness about the usage of gadgets by citing an example of how electromagnetic radiation effects the health. He wished that research should happen in SMVITM to overcome the ill effects of technology. He expressed his compliments to the Swamiji of Sode Mutt for his achievements and vision.

H.H. Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiij, President, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Udupi, who presided over the function, said that as computers are protected from malware by installing antivirus software’ in the same way mind of the human being need to be protected by avoiding negative taught.

Various scholarships and academic proficiency prizes instituted by various philanthropists, individuals and organizations were awarded to the recipients on the occasion.  Mr. Sanjay J, Department of Civil Engineering and Ms. Sreeraksha Acharya, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering were awarded with best outgoing student awards.

Shri. P Srinivas Tantry, Vice President, Mr. H. V. Gowthama, Prof. B S Revankar, Members, SSVMET, Udupi; Prof. S G Gopalakrishna, Prof. Udupi Srinivas, Prof. Harish B and Shri Sunder Madakshira, Governing Council  members were present on the dais.

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute presented the annual report of the academic year 2017 -18 on the occasion. Ms. Ravi Prabha, Student Welfare Officer, read out the list of scholarship awardees. Dr. Balachandra Achar, Head of Electronics and Communication Department, announced the names of Best outgoing students. Shri. Ratnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET welcomed the gathering and Mr. Kishore Kumar Aroor, Department of Mechanical Engineering proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Aishwarya, Assistant Professor, introduced the Pejewara seer. Ms. Chinmayi Kulkarni, a third year student rendered an invocation. Ms. Vani Bhat and Ms. Kavya compered the program. The formal function was followed by various variety entertainment programmes by the students.
