“Varnothsava” is an annual intercollegiate techno-cultural fest conducted by SMVITM since 2014. The event focuses on organizing good quality events in both technical and cultural platform.
The sixth edition of the event “Varnothsava - 19” is being organized on 7 and 8 March 2019. With an intent of organizing the fest with a definite theme every year, this year the event is being organized with a theme to depict the Tuluva Heritage.
Tuluva heritage is one of the oldest heritages of India. Tuluva tradition is very rich in values and rituals. Tulu language is one of the five Dravidian languages of South India (others are Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam). About 2.5 million people speak tulu. Tulu language with its near extinct script has been generated enthusiasm amongst the linguists.
This year SMVITM is providing a wide opportunity for Technical and Cultural extravaganza through Varnothsava-19. In this Varnothsava, we have planned to include Tulu traditional programs in order to showcase the tulu tradition, history and culture.
