ROUNDS
  • Elimination round where each team would be given M.C.Q's. A fixed number of teams with the best Circuitrix scores would advance to the second round.
  • The teams will be given a circuit. Participants should (Circuit Rigup/Debugging) rig up that circuit. Teams with the lowest clock time would advance to the 3rd round.
  • The Debugging Round: The teams are required to Guidelines: find the faults in the given circuit and get the output. The team with the lowest clock time and maximum faults identified will be the winner.

Bots on Lanes

Objective:To make a manually controlled machine that completes an obstacle track in the minimum possible time.

TRACK ARENA:
  • The track will have a maximum width of 30cm.
  • The hurdles present on the track may be in the form of:
    • Sands and Gravel
    • Oils and Greases
    • Bridges and inclined surfaces
    • Crystal balls, cotton, wood and iron pellets etc.
DIMENSIONS AND POWER SUPPLY:
  • The machine must fit within a box of dimensions 30 cm X 25 cm (L X B) at the beginning of the game.
  • Maximum Voltage Supply in any case must not Exceed 24 V DC.
  • The organizers will provide a standard 230V/50 Hz AC power supply. Any extension cords, eliminators, adaptors etc required will have to be arranged by participants themselves.
RULES OF THE EVENT
  • The race will be conducted on timing criterion i.e. the team to complete the whole track in minimum possible time will be the winner.
  • The time measured by the organizers will be final and will be used for scoring the teams. Time measured by any contestant by any other means is not acceptable for scoring.
  • A team can consist of a maximum of 3 participants.
  • In case of any disputes / discrepancies, the organizer’s decision will be final.
  • Any team not ready at the time specified will be disqualified from the competition automatically.
  • Judges decision will be final and binding on all no argument will be entertained.
  • Wired / Wireless Control is allowed.
  • The R.C. Car must not be made up of Ready Made Kits, Lego Parts etc.
  • Robot should not b touched in middle of race.

Overview of Synopsis & Guidelines:

Topic: "Emerging Trends in Engineering & Technology"

The abstract should give a clear indication of the objective, abstract, main text, and conclusion and future aspects of the paper. The length of the abstract should not be more than 300 words. The title page of abstract must contain the name of the members, name of the college to which the members belong, email ID and contact number.

  • Each team has to submit online an abstract/synopsis, on the basis of which they will be short listed for the presentation.

  • The contestants are contested against the opponents on stage. The number of rounds will be decided by the response gathered.
  • The contestants will have to speak on a topic for about 1minute. The topics are to be decided by the JAM master.
  • Valid objections which will be mentioned by the JAM master on the spot can be raised or objected upon.
  • Speaking for 10 seconds will be rewarded 1point.
    • 1 point for valid objection.
    • -1 point for invalid objection.
    • 5 points to the team holding floor at the end of 1 minute.

About Us

Varnothsava an annual intercollegiate cultural and technical fest organised by SMVITM was first oraganised in the year 2014. It had participants from almost all colleges in the region. The first ever intercollegiate cultural and technical fests separately titled Varnothsava and Tantrikotsava respectively were held on 3 & 4 March 2014. While Varnothsava had competitive events like dance, mime shows, singing, rangoli, face painting etc., participants of Tantrikotsava took part in various technical competitons like roborace, gaming, branch specific paper presentations etc. The second edition of the inter collegiate technical & cultural fest titled Varnothsava’15 was held at the institute premises on 20 february 2015. More than 660 participants from 12 engineering and degree colleges participated in competitive cultural and technical events held as part of the fest . The third edition, Varnothsava’16, hosted by SMVITM will be held on 10 & 11 March 2016. It’s a platform for tech geeks and cultural maniacs to showcase their talents that can amaze anyone!
