\"IOT\"<\/a>Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi, under the aegis of the Student Chapter of Indian Society for technical Education (ISTE), organized a two-day workshop on Internet of Things (IoT) and its Applications for the students of SMVITM on campus on 25 and 26 January,2016.<\/p>\n

Nikhil Acharya, Pratheek Hegde, Ryan Christ D\u2019souza, Pravez, and Vishveshwara Sharma, final year students of SMVITM and Chitransh Srivastava from MIT, Manipal were the resource persons for the workshop.<\/p>\n

96 students from across branches and semesters attended the workshop, where they were exposed to hands-on experience in using Arduino microcontroller kits, different kinds of sensors, sensor data storage in cloud and Android app development.<\/p>\n

During the inauguration session on the day of workshop, Prof.Dr.Tirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of SMVITM, congratulated the students resource persons for taking the lead in conducting the workshop. Dr. A. Ganesha, Dean (Academics), Mr.Venugopal Rao Incharge-HOD of CSE department and other faculty members of the college were present during the occasion.
