The fourth Annual Day of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management\u00a0(SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi was celebrated on 05 March 2014.\u00a0Inaugurating the event, Mr. Ramesh Pathak, Vice President (R&D), Schneider Electric\u00a0India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore,<\/strong> <\/span>said that every individual should be aware of his or her\u00a0personal, professional and social responsibilities and they should fulfill each of these\u00a0responsibilities in the \"\"<\/a>best possible way. He also said that whatever innovations made\u00a0in the field of technology should be sustainable in the long run and every generation\u00a0has an obligation to the succeeding generations as far as sustainability of the natural\u00a0resources are concerned. According to him, the ability to communicate complex ideas\u00a0in simplified ways was the key to be absorbed by the job market in the present day\u00a0world of information explosion.<\/p>\n

Shri Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi, President\u00a0of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust<\/strong><\/span>, presiding over the function opined that,\u00a0just as one needed to have a body and soul for an existence, both material knowledge\u00a0and philosophical knowledge were essential for the harmonious development of\u00a0individuals. He further said that the college was established with the objective of\u00a0providing quality technical education, along with opportunities for developing aesthetic\u00a0and creative talents and skills in physical activities like sports and games, to rural\u00a0students.<\/p>\n

Various scholarships, best outgoing student awards and academic proficiency prizes\u00a0instituted by various philanthropists, individuals and organizations were awarded to\u00a0the recipients on the occasion.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Principal of the institute, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal presented the Annual Report\u00a0for the year 2013 \u2013\u201914. Shri Ratnakumar, Secretary Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education\u00a0Trust, Udupi welcomed the gathering. Prof. Dr. Ganesha A, Dean (Academics),<\/strong> <\/span>Mr.\u00a0Rahul Kotian and Mr. Pradyumna Acharya, the President and the Secretary of the\u00a0SMVITM Student Council were also present.<\/strong>Prof. Raviprabha, Student Welfare\u00a0Officer proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Benny Mathews introduced the Chief Guest\u00a0to the gathering.<\/strong> <\/span>The programme commenced with a prayer from Ms. Usha H and\u00a0was compeered by Ms. Anitha Pillai, Ms. Bhavya and Mr. Nikhil Acharya. The formal\u00a0function was followed by various variety entertainment programmes by the students.<\/strong><\/p>\n
