The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, is proud to announce that its second-year students have secured First Prize in the National-Level Symposium and Idea Pitching Competition<\/strong>, held on August 23, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The event, organized by BVRIT<\/strong> and the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter (SBC), Telangana State<\/strong>, was conducted in online mode and witnessed enthusiastic participation from student innovators across the country.<\/p>\n The SMVITM team’s winning idea, titled \u201c24\u00d77 Solar and Biogas Powered Cold Storage,\u201d<\/em> proposed a sustainable and impactful solution aimed at providing uninterrupted cold storage using renewable energy sources solar and biogas. The project addresses critical challenges in food preservation and energy accessibility, especially in rural and agricultural communities, making it both timely and socially relevant.<\/p>\n The winning team consisted of Shashank S Moolya, Vilesh Jayanth Nayak, and Rakshitha Nayak<\/strong>, second-year students from the ECE department. The team was mentored by Mr. Ganesh U G, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, SMVITM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This remarkable achievement is a testament to SMVITM\u2019s continued focus on innovation, sustainability, and the application of engineering knowledge to real-world problems.
