The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi, in association with the ISTE student chapter<\/strong> and IEEE student branch<\/strong>, successfully organized a workshop on Cloud Monitoring, Applications, and Public Cloud APIs<\/strong> on Saturday, May 31, 2025.<\/p>\n The workshop provided students with a comprehensive introduction to cloud computing fundamentals<\/strong> and the architecture of Google Cloud<\/strong>, including core GCP services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and App Engine. A key highlight was the engaging hands-on session on Google Cloud APIs<\/strong>, where participants learned to automate tasks such as creating VM instances, managing storage buckets, and retrieving system metrics using GCP’s REST APIs.<\/p>\n Mr. Gautam N. Shet<\/strong> (Alumnus of SMVITM) and Mr. Vaibhav Salian<\/strong>, both Cloud Associate – Customer Engineering at Niveus Solution Limited Udupi, served as expert resource persons. Their clear instructions and effective query handling were highly praised by participants, who appreciated the opportunity to perform real-time tasks on the cloud platform.<\/p>\n The event saw the presence of Dr. Soumya J. Bhat<\/strong>, Head, Dept. of CSE, and Mr. Raghavendra Hegde<\/strong>, Sr. Asst. Professor, Dept. of CSE. Mr. Dhanush<\/strong> and Ms. Natasha<\/strong>, student office bearers of ISTE, were the student coordinators.
