{"id":21964,"date":"2020-07-22T09:31:11","date_gmt":"2020-07-22T09:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sode-edu.in\/?p=21964"},"modified":"2020-07-22T11:09:57","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T11:09:57","slug":"best-paper-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sode-edu.in\/smvitm\/accomplishments\/best-paper-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Paper Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three research papers authored by the faculty and students of SMVITM have won the best paper awards in the 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0International Research Colloquium on Advanced Engineering and Information Technology held at Manipal University, Dubai, on 12 July 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The papers titled \u201cAn Approach towards the Extractive Text Summarization of Hindi news portals\u201d by Dr. Sachin Bhat, U Pooja Nair and Suraksha; \u201cExtraction of Human Body Measurement using Affine mode correction and Green Screen Segmentation\u201d by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Thrishna, Thejashree, Vidyashree and Chaitra; and \u201cTransliteration of Kannada text to English from images\u201d by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Kannika Priyadarshini, Bhagyashree Bhat, Harshitha and Annapurna Upadhya have won the best paper awards in the categories of EC, EE and IT respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Two more papers titled \u201cAir quality monitoring and pollution analysis\u201d by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Manasa Shetty, Rashi Shetty, Ashwini Shankara Shetty and Chaitrika Shetty; and \u201cEnhanced Fuzzy Possibilistic C-Means method for the segmentation of Lung tumors\u201d\u00a0by Dr. Sachin Bhat, Rushali Naik and Vinutha have won the second best paper awards in two other tracks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-21975 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/sode-edu.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/e-1-faculty-and-staff-details-b-23-6-20-faculty-pho-1-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"E:\\1 FACULTY &amp;
