\"\"<\/a>The department of Mechanical Engineering has organized Workshop on \u201cFire Safety\u201d on Monday, 21st October, 2019 for the benefit of final year Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering students. Mr. Guru Prasad and Mr. K S Babu, trainers of Alpha Technical Training & Development Center, Mangalore were the resource persons of the workshop.<\/p>\n

The workshop includes general understanding of basic fire awareness including what should be done in the event of a fire, how to prevent a fire occurring and a basic introduction of the protocol of extinguishing a fire. The workshop also includes different types of extinguishers such as Water, Foam, Dry Powder, CO2 and Wet Chemical and their uses. Also they briefed about the training programs and certification courses conducted at Alpha Technical Training & Development Center for the mechanical and civil engineers.<\/p>\n

Mr. Guru Prasad demonstrated the fire extinguishing procedure for the fire caused by different sources like wood, petrol and kerosene.<\/p>\n

Around 50 Students of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering have attended the workshop.<\/p>\n
