STUDENT COUNCIL OF SMVITM, BANTAKAL<\/h1>\n
\n

Preamble<\/h2>\n

For the purpose of representing and serving the students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal, in all matters concerning their education and wellbeing, a student body called a Student Council is established. However, this elected student council should not get linked with outside student organisations nor will have any obligations with them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/h2>\n

The Council shall undertake the following duties and responsibilities of:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Assisting the authorities in encouraging the continual improvement of engineering education and professionalism within the Institute and the University.<\/li>\n
  • Recognizing outstanding students in the Institute.<\/li>\n
  • Promoting co-curricular, extracurricular and sports activities in the Institute.<\/li>\n
  • Engaging dialogue between students and authorities\/faculty in the Institute on matters of mutual concern.<\/li>\n
  • Encouraging student participation in intercollegiate events.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinating activities of various student chapters, cultural & technical associations at the Institute level.<\/li>\n
  • Supporting campus placement initiatives.<\/li>\n
  • Organizing annual cultural & technical fests of the Institute.<\/li>\n
  • Assisting in curbing the menace of ragging in the campus.<\/li>\n
  • Maintaining harmony and conducive academic environment in the Institute \/campus.<\/li>\n
  • Improving faculty- staff- student interrelations.<\/li>\n
  • Supporting the Institute, management in all developmental activities and redressal of student grievances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    However, the decision of the Principal is final in all issues handled by this Student council.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \n

    Roles and Responsibilities<\/h2>\n
    \n

    President:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Represents the student body at the Institution.<\/li>\n
    • Oversees all student council activities with suggestions from Principal\/ SWO.<\/li>\n
    • Is responsible for the dissemination of the Institution’s policies and guidelines to the student community through the student council.<\/li>\n
    • Establishes and coordinates College-wide committees necessary to serve students.<\/li>\n
    • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
      \n

      Vice President:<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Represents the student body at the Institution as and when requested by the President.<\/li>\n
      • Assists the President and coordinates the working committees.<\/li>\n
      • Assumes the duties of the President in the President’s absence.<\/li>\n
      • Establishes and maintains the contact with Departmental and Institutional associations like NSS, Rotaract etc..<\/li>\n
      • Monitors and updates the class representatives’ grievances.<\/li>\n
      • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
        \n

        General Secretary:<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Prepares and circulates minutes of meetings.<\/li>\n
        • Initiates implementation of student council decisions.<\/li>\n
        • Handles all student council correspondence.<\/li>\n
        • Prepares annual report of all student council activities.<\/li>\n
        • Coordinates fund raising projects of the student council.<\/li>\n
        • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
          \n

          Technical Coordinator:<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Coordinates with Institutional Co-curricular Activity Coordinator for planning and execution of all Technical Events\/Fests.<\/li>\n
          • Coordinates and supervises the activities of all technical associations of the institute.<\/li>\n
          • Coordinates the participation of SMVITM in intercollegiate technical events.<\/li>\n
          • Prepares annual report of all technical activities and record of student achievements.<\/li>\n
          • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
            \n

            Cultural Coordinator:<\/h3>\n
              \n
            • Coordinates with Institutional Extra-curricular Activity Coordinator for planning and execution of all Cultural Events\/Fests.<\/li>\n
            • Coordinates and supervises all Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities of the institute.<\/li>\n
            • Coordinates the participation of SMVITM in intercollegiate cultural events\/fests.<\/li>\n
            • Prepares annual report of all cultural activities and record of student achievements.<\/li>\n
            • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
              \n

              Sports Coordinator:<\/h3>\n
                \n
              • Responsible for organizing sports & games events during Annual Sports Meet in association with Assistant Director of Physical Education of SMVITM.<\/li>\n
              • Coordinates the participation of SMVITM in VTU and other intercollegiate sports & games events.<\/li>\n
              • Coordinates and supervises all activities related to sports and games in the institute.<\/li>\n
              • Prepares annual report of all sports & games activities and record of student accomplishments.<\/li>\n
              • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
                \n

                Publicity Coordinator:<\/h3>\n
                  \n
                • Assists in institute website-related works.<\/li>\n
                • Must be the member of photographic club.<\/li>\n
                • Assists in publicity committee in Institute publicity related work.<\/li>\n
                • Conducts him\/herself with loyalty, integrity and in an exemplary manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
