\"\"The eighth Annual Sports Meet of SMVITM, Bantakal was held on 24 February 2018. Mr. Shamsundar, Physical Education Director, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte was the chief guest at the inaugural function held in the morning. Inaugurating the event, Mr. Shamsundar said that \u201cPeople go behind wealth when they are young. Later part of the life will go in search of health with the help of accumulated wealth. Youth must take part in sports activities to stay healthy in life\u201d. He also gave away prizes to the winners in the sports competitions held for the staff on the occasion.<\/p>\n

Shri Ratnakumar, Secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Udupi, presided over the inaugural function and wished the sports meet a splendid success. He appreciated the students for participation in the event in large numbers. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute, Mr. Naveen Shetty, Physical Education Director, SVH Institutions, Innanje and Mr. Santhosh, Physical Education Director, Anandatheertha Vidyalaya, Pajaka, HODs of various departments, faculty and staff members were present during the function.<\/p>\n

Ms. Shikha B M, administered the oath to the participants. Mr. Ramachandra B N proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Tanusha Shetty compered the program. Attractive March past was held before the inauguration. Contingent of CSE students won the best contingent award in March Past.<\/p>\n

The inagural program was followed by different athletic meets\u00a0 organized by Physical education department for the students. All the athletes participated sportively.
