\"IMG_0253\"<\/a>Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, (SMVITM)Bantakal along with ISTE Faculty Chapter organized a two-day faculty development program- \u201cVikasana\u201d for its faculty at the institute on 18 and 19 July 2016. \u00a0Dr. B. M. Somayaji, Retired Professor in Chemistry, PPC Udupi, was the chief guest for the inaugural function of this program. Sri Ratnakumar, Secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust\u00ae Udupi, and Prof. \u00a0Dr. Radheshyam, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering of SMVITM were present during the inaugural session.<\/p>\n

Delivering his inaugural address, Dr. Somayaji said that, one can be inspired by other persons but to succeed in life one has to be self-motivated.\u00a0 He also stressed on being satisfied ourselves first. He also added some tips to the faculty members to be more enthusiastic, being empathetic, to recognize the smallest accomplishment of the students, and also to make sure that at the end of the class, students eyes will be glittered with satisfaction of gaining knowledge. He also said that, the ultimate satisfaction for a teacher is when his students excel in the professional field. He also highlighted the importance of Spiritual Quotient (SQ) along with Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Intelligent Quotient (IQ).<\/p>\n

While delivering the presidential address, Sri Ratnakumar, Secretary SSVMET appreciated the faculty me\u00aa\u00c0i\u00efbers for their contribution in the previous year, requested to continue the same with the larger interest of institutional and personal growth. He also assured that the management will support the faculty and staff for all their good work.<\/p>\n

Program began with the invocation by Ms. Aishwarya ( Dept. of mathematics). Prof. Dr. Radheshyam B gave overview about this program and welcomed the gathering. Prof. Dr. Balachandra Achar, Head, Dept. of ECE proposed vote of thanks. The program was anchored by Mr. Venugopal Rao of Dept. of computer Science Engineering<\/p>\n

On the first day, \u201cProffesional Ethics\u201d, \u201c Towards Quality Education-NBA Prerequisites\u201d and \u201cFinancial Management for Teachers \u201c were delivered by Dr. B. M. Somayaji, Dr. Sudarshan Rao K, (Head, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering SMVITM) and Mr. Harish B. (Technical Advisor to SMVITM) respectively.\u00a0 On the second day, \u201cEffective Knowledge Dissemination through Teaching Aids\u201d by Sri. P. N. Bhat, Best Teacher State Level Awardee-2015, Vidhyabodhini High School, Balila, Sullia Taluk, Knowledge Sharing through Blogging\u201d by Prof. Prithvi Loy Serrao, SJEC, Mangalore and \u201cTools for Self Enhancement\u201d by Dr. Vasudeva and Mr. Vijayendra Bhat, SMVITM were conducted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
