MediaXpose – A Mock Press Conference: Enhancing Professional Communication Skills

The Department of Business Administration at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management successfully organized “MediaXpose – A Mock Press Conference” on 20th February 2026 at the MBA Block with the objective of strengthening students’ professional communication, critical thinking, and crisis-handling abilities through experiential learning.

The event simulated a real-world press conference environment, where student teams acted as company representatives and interacted with a panel of moderators and simulated media members. Participants responded to challenging and probing questions while maintaining confidence, professionalism, and composure, thereby gaining practical exposure to corporate communication scenarios.

Senior students played an active role as moderators and evaluators, assessing participants on key aspects such as clarity of communication, body language, confidence, coordination, and crisis response skills. Their observations and evaluations provided constructive insights to participants for personal and professional improvement.

The sessions were observed by Prof. Aurin Madtha and Prof. Varun Krishna, who appreciated the creativity, preparedness, and enthusiasm demonstrated by the student teams throughout the activity. Their encouragement motivated participants to actively engage and refine their communication competencies in a professional setting.

The program successfully blended academic learning with practical exposure, reinforcing the department’s commitment to nurturing confident, industry-ready, and professionally skilled management graduates capable of handling real-world business interactions effectively.
